Light Solos

by Ula Sickle 2011

I have a confession.

I am completely bias when it comes to Ula Sickle. I have been friends with Ula since we attended Earl Haig Secondary School together. She is a phenomenal dancer (P.A.R.T.S. & CCDT trained), choreographer and artist.

As time has gone on, she performs less and choreographs more and now add filmmaker to her CV. But I love it when she dances in any capacity. In Light Solos, there is a stillness and distortion of movement that forces one concentration and engage. I feel like I’m being pushed to the point of madness when watching this work, but I can’t look away because the aesthetic is so strong.

If you are epileptic or have occasional seizures, please look away and don’t watch this. Otherwise enjoy!

UPDATE: Her videos have no been set to private. Here’s her website link to her complete body of work is . Link to Light Solo page here.
